UC Riverside General Catalog Now Available as Apple iBook
Also available for Amazon Kindle, the electronic versions help meet commitment to improve the university’s environmental footprint

The UC Riverside General Catalog is now available electronically on the Apple iBook and Amazon Kindle platforms.
The University of California, Riverside has announced that the university’s 2012-2013 General Catalog is now available in the popular Apple iBook format. The catalog can be purchased for $4.99 through iTunes.
Last year, with the release of the Amazon Kindle version of the catalog, UC Riverside became the first major U.S. university to offer a course catalog in the ebook format.
“It is our goal to provide a general catalog that is easily accessible and searchable across a wide variety of formats,” UCR Registrar Bracken Dailey said. “This year, with the addition of the Apple iBook catalog, we are able to offer yet another ebook option for our students, faculty, and staff members.”
In line with this goal, UCR also offers a variety of PDF (portable document format) versions online at catalog.ucr.edu.
The decision to go to the ebook format parallels UC Riverside’s commitment to improve the university’s environmental footprint. Areas of emphasis include sustainability in academics and research, built environment, energy and climate protection, food procurement, recycling and waste management, sites transportation, and water.
Sustainability efforts are getting noticed. The University of California, Riverside is listed as one of “America’s Coolest Schools” in Sierra Magazine, and has received two awards for creating an environmentally-friendly, sustainable campus.
