RIVERSIDE, Calif. (www.ucr.edu) — Kent Johnson, an assistant research engineering at the Bourns College of Engineering’s Center for Environmental Research and Technology at the University of California, Riverside, discusses his research with hybrid bulldozers at Waste Management El Sobrante Landfill.
Initial results show fuel consumption is reduced 10 to 20 percent. And some of the toxic species from exhaust, many of which contribute to smog, have been cut 99 percent.
