Police Arrest Three Robbery Suspects
RIVERSIDE, Calif. (www.ucr.edu) – Three Moreno Valley men have been arrested in connection with recent robberies near the UC Riverside campus.
The suspects are Xavier Vining, 20; Doneal Lewis Cephus, 18; and Markeith Shavers, 19.
The arrests resulted from an excellent team effort displayed by both the Riverside Police Department and the University of California Riverside Police Department. Neither agency is looking for any additional suspects at this time.
Five robberies were reported on Wednesday between 8 and 9 p.m. around the UC Riverside campus.
UCR Police Chief Mike Lane said his congratulations go to the whole team, but especially UCR Sgt. Morrison, Detective Harding and Detective Enriquez. He also gave credit to students who had the presence of mind to offer good descriptions of the suspects in each case.
If anyone has additional information regarding these incidents they are asked to contact Riverside Police Department Detective Rick Cobb at (951) 353-7135 or Detective Rick Wheeler at (951) 353-7134.
