RIVERSIDE, Calif. (www.ucr.edu) — Need a place to host a departmental event? Or are you looking for a vendor that can provide promotional items for your club or department at a great price? Or maybe you aren’t sure how to buy group tickets to a UCR intercollegiate athletics event or don’t know about UCR Event Parking’s recent changes to their rates.

Never fear, the Community Partner Fair (CPF) is here to help. The event will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Room 302 of the Highlander Union Building.

Now in its third year, the CPF allows staff, faculty and students to learn about and connect with campus and community vendors to interact with more than 20 vendors from both on and off campus. It is sponsored by the UCR Staff Assembly and will feature light refreshments and door prizes.

“Visitors to the fair will have the chance to fill out a ‘passport’ with stamps from vendors, which will then make them eligible for the door prize drawing,” said Samantha Jobelius, the lead person for the fair and academic program and development analyst for the Graduate School of Education.

“We are excited to once again be a part of this event,” said Jason List, assistant athletics director for marketing at UCR. “One of the key emphases within athletics is to get members of our campus more involved and infused with Highlander pride. Having a platform like this to creatively interact with students, faculty and staff is a great opportunity for us.”

“We always look forward to participating at the Community Partner Fair,” said Leland Felsenthal, president of Public Identity, Inc.in Los Angeles. “The name of this event perfectly characterizes the sentiment we both seek to extend and receive with UCR. After over a decade of doing business together, we’ve embraced the wonderful community UCR is and is always becoming, and have forged some nice friendships too.”

“What we most appreciate about the Community Partner Fair is the opportunity to personally connect with our campus,” said Debbie Manlongat, field services manager for Transportation and Parking Services, which will have booths for alternate transportation, event parking and transit, mobility services and parking enforcement at the event. “Being able to put a face with a voice or email is so important.  And to introduce ourselves to folks who may know very little about the services we provide is great.”
