		<description><![CDATA[“Our temperatures have increased by 2 to 3 degrees Fahrenheit, and that seems to be enough to keep them from being frozen out during the winter … So if you have an insect with multiple generations, you get more generations. If you've got an insect that occurs early in a crop, it will occur earlier in the crop, and faster.” 

John Trumble, distinguished professor of entomology, on the potato-tomato psyllid and how warmer temperatures have allowed the pest to damage more crops earlier in the growing season and in turn, spread north throughout California.
