Former Boeing CEO to Lecture April 15

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Philip M. Condit, former CEO of the Boeing Co., will discuss “Fostering Policies on the Promotion of International Trade and U.S. Exports” on Monday, April 15, at the University of California, Riverside.

The event, part of the School of Public Policy Lecture Series, begins at 4 p.m. in Humanities 1500. The lecture is free and open to the public. There is a fee for parking. Permits may be purchased at the kiosk at the entrance to the campus on West Campus Drive.

Condit, an aviation enthusiast since childhood, worked at Boeing for 38 years, becoming president and a member of the board of directors in 1992, chief executive officer in 1996, and chairman of the board in 1997. He retired from Boeing in 2004.

The native of Berkeley, Calif., earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Princeton University, a master’s in management from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a doctorate in engineering from Science University of Tokyo, where he was the first Westerner to earn such a degree.
