Commencement 2013 is scheduled for June 14-17.

Each year, thousands of UCR graduates walk in the annual commencement ceremonies that honor their years of hard work and academic studies. And though commencement marks a transition in the lives of the graduates, the unsung heroes are the volunteers who make the memorable ceremonies run smoothly.

This year, more than 5,000 graduates are expected to walk in seven different ceremonies, to be held on June 14-17 on Pierce Hall Lawn near the bell tower.

UCR staff, faculty, students, alumni and friends are invited to help out by volunteering their time and energy during one or all of the seven ceremonies.

Volunteer duties include checking in candidates, reading names, helping to line up candidates and keep procession lines moving, assisting guests with any of their needs, providing information for guests and selling commencement programs.

To get started volunteering, fill out a volunteer registration form available at www.advancementservices.ucr.edu/StaffandVolunteer/Registration.aspx.
