UCR FarmShare is a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program— part of a national trend that brings fresh seasonal fruits, vegetables and herbs straight from local farms directly to universities, businesses and municipalities.Participants subscribe to UCR FarmShare and pick up their fresh produce weekly at the Market at Glen Mor at UCR.

UC Living Well is hosting several webinars to help employees learn how to register and navigate the Optum Wellness website, find support to make positive lifestyle changes, connect with a personal wellness coach who can offer proven support to help accomplish their goals and to learn how to earn a $75 Visa gift card.

Walk & Talk with Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Paul D’Anieri

Provost & Executive Vice Chancellor Paul D’Anieri will lead the next UCR Walk and Talk with Leadership series on Thursday, March 19. The walk will begin at 12:15 p.m. sharp at the Scotty the Bear statue outside of the HUB. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes and bring your own water.

Created by the Wellness Program, the Walk and Talk series was created to encourage the campus community to get healthy, get moving, and get to know the campus. Every month, there will be a 30-minute “walk and talk” opportunity with a member of the UCR Leadership team.

César E. Chávez 5K Run/Walk Set for April 4

UCR’s 14th Annual César E. Chávez 5K Run/Walk is set for 7:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 4 starting at the UCR belltower. It was created to celebrate the legacy of César E. Chávez,a labor leader and Latino civil rights activist who helped found the United Farm Workers (UFW), and to raise critically needed funds for student scholarships at UCR

“We are asking people to recruit your friends and family, and set a fundraising goal,” said Estella Acuña, director of the Chicano Student Programs. There is a 5k Run/Walk that starts at 8:30 a.m. as well as a kids’ run for children ages 12 and under that starts at 9:30 a.m. Cost is $20 per person, or $80 for a team of five people.
