Reza Aslan to Speak on Islamophobia
UCR professor, and internationally acclaimed author, Reza Aslan to give talk on April 13
RIVERSIDE, Calif. (www.ucr.edu) – Reza Aslan, professor of creative writing at UCR, will discuss “Islamophobia: The Real Enemy” on Monday, April 13, as part of the Middle Eastern Student Center’s weeklong celebration of culture, tradition, and unity.
The talk challenges the stigmas and stereotypes affecting Muslims and non-Muslims alike. The lecture is open to the public, doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the talk will begin at 6 p.m. It will be held in HUB room 302. Free parking will be available to all guests in Lot 1.
Aslan is the author of New York Times No. 1 bestseller “Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth.” He is the founder of AslanMedia, a social media network about the Middle East and the world.
