Below is a slideshow of the visit to campus by Karen Ross, Secretary of the California Department of Food and Agriculture, on June 26, 2015. Accompanying her on a tour of labs and facilities were UCR Chancellor Kim Wilcox, UCR Assistant Vice Chancellor for Governmental Relations Sue McKee, UCR Director of Federal Relations Kaitlin Chell, Martha Montoya (Los Kitos Produce, LLC and Farms) and her daughter Olga Harrison, Ben Drake (Drake Enterprises), and Rodney Taylor (Riverside Unified School District).

During the visit they met with Myriam Grajales-Hall (Program Manager, UC Agriculture and Natural Resources News and Information Outreach in Spanish) and toured the facilities of the Citrus Clonal Protection Program (led by CCPP Director Georgios Vidalakis and Staff Research Associate Greg Greer), as well as the labs and offices of CNAS professors Sean Cutler (plant cell biology), Anand Ray (entomology) and Quinn McFrederick (entomology).

Earlier in the day, Secretary Ross attended presentations on the Asian citrus psyllid and Huanglongbing by Erica Kistner; the UC Global Food Initiative by Peggy Mauk; and the California Agriculture Food Enterprise by Jodie Holt.
