Kansas City, MO—UC Riverside Executive Associate AD/SWA Janet Lucas, who was the Highlanders’ interim athletics director for much of the 2014-15 academic year, was named the 2015 Administrator of the Year for NCAA Division I by the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA). Lucas will be honored October 13 in Tampa, Florida at the 2015 Administrator of the Year Luncheon presented by KP Sports, in conjunction with the 36th Annual NACWAA National Convention.

The Administrator of the Year Award is presented annually to NACWAA members for significant contributions made as athletics administrators. In addition, NACWAA presents the Nell Jackson Administrator of the Year Award, which honors an administrator who exemplifies the personal qualities and professional accomplishments of Dr. Nell Jackson—courage, conviction and perseverance.

Nominated by their peers and selected by the NACWAA Awards Committee for their service during 2014-15, the entire list of 2015 honorees are:

* NCAA Division I FBS: Vanessa Fuchs, Senior Associate Athletics Director / Senior Woman Administrator, Florida State University
* NCAA Division I FCS: Irma Garcia, Director of Athletics, St. Francis College
* NCAA Division I: Janet Lucas, Executive Associate Director of Athletics/Senior Woman Administrator, University of California, Riverside
* NCAA Division II: China Jude, Assistant Vice President/Athletics Director, Queens College (NY)
* NCAA Division III: Natalie Winkelfoos, Delta Lodge Director of Athletics & Physical Education, Oberlin College
* NAIA/NJCAA: Dr. Kiki Baker Barnes, Athletic Director, Dillard University
* Association/Organization: Lori Thomas, Commissioner, Heart of America Athletic Conference
* Nell Jackson: Julie Cromer, Senior Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator, University of Arkansas

Celebrating its 36th year, the NACWAA National Convention is the premier leadership summit for women working in intercollegiate athletics and beyond. Attended by professionals from all divisions of intercollegiate athletics as well as sports-minded corporate leaders, this annual gathering provides three days of unparalleled education, leadership training and networking. The 2015 event will be held October 11-13 at the Tampa Marriott Waterside.
