Three SOM staff members were selected as final nominees for the annual Outstanding Staff Awards from UCR Staff Assembly. Each year the UCR community is asked to nominate outstanding staff members for awards in several categories including community service, diversity, volunteer service, accountability, integrity and other areas of excellence.

Out of sixteen total finalist nominees, three were SOM staff. Amber Newell Nicholson in SOM Student Affairs and Kathy Barton in the SOM Dean’s Office were finalists for the Professional Staff Who Make a Difference Award, Lily Ramos was a finalist for the Tartan Soul Award, and Tracey Trettin in the SOM Dean’s Office was a finalist for the Commitment to Diversity Award. Barton, Ramos, and Trettin were both chosen for awards in their respective categories. A celebration reception and award presentation was held at the chancellor’s residence for all nominees and awardees.
