You can now sign-up for UC Riverside’s Fall Farmshare!

What is a FarmShare? It’s a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program – part of a national trend that brings fresh seasonal fruits, vegetables, and herbs straight from local farms to universities, businesses and municipalities. Choices are mostly organic and includes artisanal varieties as well as supermarket favorites. UCR is partnering with Old Grove Farm Share to provide the opportunity to eat healthy and buy locally.

Participants subscribe to UCR FarmShare and pick up their produce weekly at the Market at Glen Mor at UCR. You can purchase either full or medium shares. A week’s full share includes: 5 types of seasonal fruits, 5 types of seasonal vegetables, and one herb.

It’s a 10 week program that begins Thursday, October 1, and runs through Thursday, December 10, 2015. The program is 10 weeks, not including the Thanksgiving holiday. (There will not be any opportunities to skip weeks, so please make arrangements with a co-worker or family member to pick up your share, or it will be donated).

The pick up location will be at the Market at Glen Mor at UCR on Thursdays from 11 to 2 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.. There is convenient temporary parking in the lot next door.

A full share costs $28/week; a medium share costs $18/week.

You can sign up online. Several purchase options are available. For more information on the program, please visit the UCR FarmShare site.
