More than 100 new international faculty and scholars are teaching and conducting research at UCR this year, says Kimberly Gentile, director of the International Scholar Center and senior scholar advisor.

During the International Scholar Orientation Sept. 16 and the International Faculty Orientation Sept. 29, Gentile and UCR’s Vice Provost for International Affairs Kelechi Kalu welcomed the scholars and answered a wide range of questions about working and living in the U.S.

UCR’s foreign faculty and scholars have increased by 5 to 10 percent over the past two years, Gentile said.

UCR presently has more than 500 international scholars from all over the world, Gentile said, including Australia, Canada, China, Egypt, India, Iran, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Turkey.
