Walk and Talk Schedule Set for 2016

Here’s a 2-for-1 opportunity to get some exercise while meeting campus leaders

Rain didn’t keep walkers away from Feb. 23, 2015 Walk and Talk led by Associate Vice Chancellor of Human Resources Jadie Lee.

For the second year in a row, members of the campus leadership team will be taking a walk around campus and asking others to join in.

These 30-minute “walk and talk” opportunities are organized once a month by the UCR Wellness program, as a way for students, staff and faculty to get to know the campus.

“Not only is it good exercise, but it is a chance to ask questions or to see a part of campus that is new,” said Julie Chobdee, coordinator of UCR’s Wellness program. “Just wear comfortable shoes, bring some water, and don’t forget the sunscreen.”

All walks begin at 12:15 p.m. sharp with a short introduction of the leader. Academic year walks begin at the Scotty the Bear statue next to the bell tower. Summer walks will take place on the indoor track at the Student Recreation Center.
