From March 28 to April 3, faculty, staff, international students and alumni can use the UCR Student Recreation Center (SRC) for free. All you need is the UCR ID Card or other photo ID for proof of membership eligibility.

Participants can enjoy the state of the art workout equipment, the pool and take any of the fitness and wellness classes offered during the free week.

César E. Chávez 5K Run/Walk on April 2

UCR’s 15th Annual César E. Chávez 5K Run/Walk is set for 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 2 starting at the UCR Olmstead plaza. It was created to celebrate the legacy of César E. Chávez,a labor leader and Latino civil rights activist who helped found the United Farm Workers (UFW), and to raise critically needed funds for student scholarships at UCR.

President Napolitano on New Systemwide Peer Review Committee for Sexual Harassment Cases Involving Senior Leaders

In 2014, President Janet Napolitano formed the 29-member President’s Task Force on Preventing and Responding to Sexual Violence and Sexual Assault, which  spent the last two years instituting systemwide improvements to strengthen our processes and increase transparency and consistency across the system. Last week, she announced the creation of a new systemwide peer review committee that will review and approve all proposed sanctions for any senior university leader found to have violated the UC policy on sexual violence and sexual harassment. “Senior leaders include, but are not limited to, chancellors, associate and assistant chancellors, provosts and vice provosts, deans, coaches, and athletic directors,” she said in her letter.
