UCR Extension Offers Free Lecture Series on Forensic Investigations

“Evenings with the Experts” topics highlight current issues in investigation, analysis and public safety

CSI 01RIVERSIDE, Calif. (www.ucr.edu) — Every summer, UCR Extension’s science, law and humanities department invites local experts and specialists to present topics that focus on current trends, scientific discovery, technology and public safety.

The lectures are presented at the UCR Extension Center, 1200 University Ave., Riverside, on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m., starting July 13 through July 27.

The “Evenings with the Experts” free lecture series is open to the public. Learn something new and interact with skilled professionals. Space is limited so secure your seat as soon as possible.

Topics and speakers include:

  • July 13: Survival Techniques On-Scene, Lary Townson, EMT-A, national director, Law Enforcement Division.
  • July 20: Forensic Biology: Science and the Law, Melanie Velasco, criminalist, California Department of Justice, Bureau of Forensic Services.
  • July 27: Terrorism: Too Close to Home, James Biesterfeld, owner, Sovereign Executive Services, and former special agent in the intelligence field.
