Community Invited to Hearing on Improving College Readiness and Completion in the Inland Empire

RIVERSIDE, Calif. ( – The California Assembly Committee on Higher Education will hold a public hearing from 9-11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 22, on improving college readiness and degree attainment in the Inland Empire. The hearing will be held at the University of California, Riverside’s Alumni and Visitors Center, 3701 Canyon Crest Drive. Free parking is available to attendees in UCR Lot 24.

Assemblymember Jose Medina, who serves the 61st District and is the chair of the Assembly Committee on Higher Education, will deliver welcome remarks with UCR Chancellor Kim Wilcox. During the hearing, the committee will review existing education programs and partnerships for students in the Inland Empire and discuss strengths and challenges in ensuring students of all races, genders, and socio-economic statuses are prepared to attend college and attain pertinent college degrees and certificates.
