Handkerchiefs, boots, and cowboy hats set the stage for the 2016 Staff Assembly Holiday Hoedown, which treated about 400 employees to an afternoon of games, food, dancing, and prizes.

This year’s holiday party — featuring live music by Gold Rush Country — took place on Dec. 16 at the HUB. Staff Assembly has organized this holiday celebration for at least 10 years, said Robert Wolfer, Staff Assembly president. Each year the theme is different. Last year, for example, they offered staff a masquerade afternoon that included casino games.

“The holiday party continues to be an opportunity for UCR staff to take a break and enjoy each other’s company.  Donating to Staff Assembly, via Society ’54 payroll deduction, is one way to help ensure events like this will continue in the future,” Wolfer said.
