Jeff Holmes, the new interim part-time campus architect, will work with John Casey, executive director for Construction and Project Management, and the Architects and Engineers (A&E) team to ensure consistency and aesthetic quality in design across the campus.

As the campus architect, Holmes will provide guidance on critical campus projects through coordination with project staff as well as serving as a member of the campus Arts Council and the Design Review Board. Holmes is a registered architect and has certifications with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCAARB) and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).

“The university is truly honored to have Jeff in this role. He has worked on numerous building projects across the globe including the One World Trade Center, Time Warner Center, and the Zuckerman Research Center at Memorial Sloan Kettering,” Casey said. “Jeff has also taught numerous courses at MIT and Cornell University, and won a Presidential Citation and a Best New Health Care Facility award, just to name two.”

Holmes will also support the campus through staff development and efficiencies in standards and process improvements for the benefit of the campus community.

UC Walks Recap

The 8th Annual UC Walks event took place May 17 at the UCR track. The Wellness Program partnered with The Well, Student Health Services, the UCR Recreation Center and others with the goal of promoting wellness and physical fitness for students, staff and employees.

Free t-shirts, lip balm, and raffle prizes were given away.
