School of Medicine’s Dr. Gemma Kim Receives Fellowship Appointment

Gemma Kim, M.D., M.S.

Gemma Kim, M.D., M.S., assistant clinical professor and family medicine residency director at the School of Medicine, recently received a fellowship from the Association of Departments of Family Medicine (ADFM).

The 2018-19 ADFM fellowship is a one-year program designed for family medicine physicians who either aspire to becoming, or are wanting to further explore if a chair position would be a good fit. The fellowship was created to develop an effective pipeline for family medicine department chairs.

Kim joined the UCR School of Medicine faculty in March 2013 and is the founding program director of the family medicine residency program in Palm Springs. She earned her M.D./M.S. from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine and completed her residency at the Texas A&M School of Medicine – Scott & White Hospital.

Iryna Ethell Selected for UCOP Experienced Leader Collaborative

Iryna Ethell is a professor of biomedical sciences and the associate dean of academic affairs.

Iryna Ethell, associate dean of academic affairs in the School of Medicine, has been selected to participate in the 2018 UC-CORO Systemwide Leadership Collaborative for experienced leaders. Ethell is one of only a select 50 UC senior level staff and faculty/academic personnel administrators chosen to participate. The purpose of the program is to enhance leadership skills and foster relationships, networking, and collaboration across the University of California system.
