School of Medicine Dean Receives Outstanding Service Award

Deborah Deas awarded the Pre-Medical Society’s Outstanding Alumni Service Award in Medicine from the College of Charleston Alumni Association

Deborah Deas, the Mark and Pam Rubin Dean and Chief Executive Officer for Clinical Affairs.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (www.ucr.edu) – Deborah Deas, M.D., M.P.H., the Mark and Pam Rubin Dean and Chief Executive Officer for Clinical Affairs at the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine, was recently awarded the Pre-Medical Society’s Outstanding Alumni Service Award in Medicine from the College of Charleston Alumni Association.

The award recognizes a College of Charleston graduate whose practice of medicine, including dental, veterinary, and related medical sciences represents remarkable achievement, and who demonstrates an enduring commitment to the College and his or her community. Deas was one of seven alumni honored for their accomplishments in their chosen fields.

“I am thrilled to be honored by my alma mater,” said Deas. “I am passionate about serving my community and improving the health of medically underserved populations – a cause for which I have advocated throughout my career.”

Deas earned a bachelor of science in biology from the College of Charleston in 1978.
