The R’ Garden and the Office of Student Life are collaborating on Planting Days throughout March, to address food insecurity on campus.

The R’ Garden will be expanding by 1.5 acres to grow specifically for the R’ Pantry and students on campus.

In order to take advantage of the season and to be able to harvest the most food possible before the end of the school year, they need to plant as many transplants as possible in the next few weeks. With this in mind, they are calling on volunteers to help with planting over 25,000 transplants. Come find out more about the R’ Garden, the R’ Pantry, and how the campus is working to address food security issues on campus. They will be planting tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, herbs & more!

What to bring: hats, refillable water bottles, closed-toe shoes, sun block & sunglasses.

All who sign up to participate will receive a free “UCR Volunteer” T-shirt (while supplies/sizes last) and organizers will provide water and snacks for all volunteers.

Parking will be available in section 3 of lot 30 near the R’ Garden. Please find the flyer attached.
