Readers will present work in resistance to attacks on principles of freedom and justice in our community.

UCR’s next Writers Resist event, featuring undergraduates, graduate students, faculty writers, alumni, and Inland Empire writers and artists, will be held Thursday, May 31, from 5-7 p.m. in CHASS Interdisciplinary Round Lab, INTS 1111. Participants will share works of resistance as part of the national movement.

The event, organized by the Department of Creative Writing in collaboration with Pen America, began as a literary protest in response to the January 2017 presidential inauguration to signal that all eyes, ears, and pens are trained on Washington. Guests are invited to come and support the Riverside writing community in their efforts to resist attacks on principles of freedom and justice in the community.
