Voting for UCR Staff Assembly Election Begins

Five-day period for employee vote ends at noon on Friday, May 18

RIVERSIDE, Calif. ( — University of California, Riverside staff members have the opportunity to let their voices be heard as voting is now open to elect the 2012-13 Staff Assembly Board.

The voting period opened on Monday, May 14 and continues through noon on Friday, May 18. Results from the election will be announced at the Staff Assembly General Meeting on Tuesday, May 22 at noon in HUB 302. Only UCR staff may participate in the election – faculty and students are not eligible.

“The 2011-2012 school year was a good year for UCR Staff Assembly and we plan on building on that success,” said 2012-13 President Tim Willette, who spent the last year as vice president/president elect under outgoing President Steve Lerer.

“Acknowledging the challenging times for the University of California and the state as a whole, it is of the greatest importance for UCR Staff Assembly to continue to advocate for staff,” Willette said. “As we elect a new board for the upcoming academic year, it is essential that we have a fully engaged staff on campus in order to support and contribute to the successful completion of the UCR 2020 plan.”

Staff members have the opportunity to vote for the following positions:

  • vice president/president elect
  • director of events
  • director of communications
  • director of fundraising
  • director of outreach
  • director of involvement and recognition
  • director of professional development
  • treasurer and secretary.

All positions are one-year-appointments, with the exception of the vice president/president elect, who will become president of the organization in 2013-14.
