Defined simply, precrastination is completing tasks sooner rather than later. David Rosenbaum (standing), a distinguished professor of psychology, held a workshop at UCR on the topic on Aug. 3.  He started the workshop early “because this is a workshop on precrastination.” Attendees were faculty and graduate students in UCR’s Department of Psychology, along with researchers at the University of Iowa, University of Kentucky, Ben Gurion University (Israel), Washington State University, and Illinois State University.  Topics for discussion included the challenge precrastination poses for theories of adaptive behavior, pigeon precrastination, and how aging and Parkinson’s disease affect precrastination.
